REVIEW OF THE SPEECH- LIVE FULL DIE EMPTY

The talk show die empty by Les brown is one of the greatest motivational speeches I have heard in a while. I have never heard someone speak with as much conviction as he does and his story is extremely encouraging. For me it just indicated possibility

The speech part that got me was about the number of people who live all their lives discovering when it is over they never lived, because they allowed obstacles such as fear and lack of dreams to hinder them from making it. He says that the reason people do not make it is not because they aim high and miss but because they aim low and hit. He talks of a man who was being buried and the brother said that man did not die alone, he died with many dreams, potentials and talks about the number of people who go in to the grave with unsung songs.
It got me thinking the number of time we postponed ideas or we say nothing when we should have said something. It got me in to the realization of what it is that hinders everything we ever could have done.

Fear, he mentions is one of the factor that hinder people in making it in life. I have been a victim of fear, not once, not twice but many times. The reason people usually don't make it is cause the y think of all the possible obstacles they will encounter once they start what they want to do. Les browns mentioned that when there is no enemy from within then the enemy without will have no impact. This case example applies to me a lot. Many times I have a vision and wonder how am I going to do it, and many times it is procrastination that has made me unable to do that which I could have done given time. What is worse is when I ask people about what they think and the possibility of these dreams many times I get a discouragement because many time fear is confirmed.

The first step to every activity usually encourages one to keep moving. I love the phrase that he said, you can start walking where there is no road and you create a track.

Many time we look for paths that other have done before and we either get discouraged or don't find it, and if we find it we never get to win. Because that is what everyone else does.

Extra ordinary results comes when extra ordinary things are done and that mens you do that which other would never do.
What struck me most of all the things is the number of time we do things just enough to survive. People just survive on that which is enough. People just work to get enough to get the basic needs, keep a job and ordinary things. I was impressed by the part where he said people need to aim for great things and all these things come with hard work. Most importantly is that greatness is not a destiny, it is a choice. These words struck me with greatest impact, on how we are in such control of who we become we just refuse to take charge and hope it will find us.
The part that scared me the most is the part where he said, if you do not take steps towards what you want then you will find yourself where you do not want to be.
I was reminded of the number of time I say where I do not want to be and forget that I should clearly state what I want instead and work towards achieving it.
It was a great motivational speech that dared me to be different, because as he continued to say it is only those who do things differently that make it. Truth is the number of time we are afraid to stand out. I find myself wanting to hide behind other but yet again the secret to success is in doing things differently.
I was motivated to be different and more so to make it. When I think about it, I just have to make it, just like he said. I have to be able to provide. There is definatley something that drives me that does not leave me with the choice of not making it. I just have to make it. I just have to be able to go on holidays when I want to.
I think for most of the time in life we think that things will fall in to place and that they will just happen, but most of what I learned from this video was it does take personal initiative and God of course.
Another greater lesson is on what he mentioned on opinion of people should not be our reality, for some reason I could identify with him and a lot of what he said. In the past I let a lot of people define me and tell me what I could or could not do and that is what used to be my limitation,. The time I decided to take charge of my life and call the shots and say you know what this is who I am.
I came to a conclusion that really someone needs to know who they are and that way no one will have to tell them who they are as long as they know what they are made of.
On the other hand, I believe that there is another side to this coin. I feel that sometimes great people are chosen and are born. One is, God creates opportunities for people and chooses to elevate people and at times people have made it by sheer favor. So in as much as one can decide to be rich, there has to be more than just the usual that is usually a guiding factor. Sometimes God does put situations that will obviously give a benefit and help someone be the rich person they want to become. I feel that yes it is a choice, but at times it takes Gods favor.
Above all we need a lot more people who motivate people to stay positive and reminding people to dream in a world that is constantly putting people down, we need such people to constantly remind us why we are in this world and what we possibly could be if we allow ourselves to dream.
After watching this video, I purpose to be reading motivational books so as to be able to surround myself with positive energy. It is negative energy that kills morale and if it possible to get a lot of positive energy from putting in a lot of positive staff then I will do so just to make sure I get. The movie encouraged me and I know that it is a life changing message.
In conclusion, God places in us the ability to choose our destiny thorugh the choices we make constantly and the thing we do. My favourite line, greatness is not a destiny it is a choice.
